In this Music Mondays article we’re going to break down some simple tips and tricks to get a simple music video shot for your recent song for $0. Assuming you want to film a music video for your song and have the ambition to actually achieve a proper result this article is for you.
The first and most important item of this journey is most likely something you already own, a phone. This is essentially all you will need for this project and your most important asset. The first thing you will want to do with your phone is get familiar with it. What does it do? What angles look best? Can I add certain effects?
Once you have your phone down to a degree where you can be confident in your shots, the next conversation to be had is what kind of shots do you want? Do you want an all one scene video? Do you want a multi angle video? Start creating where your heart desires. One you are set with your vision then you can move on to your final phase once you start filming.
Once you have all of your footage together you can start editing. Admittedly this is where a lot of the work comes from. Most independent artists edit their own videos and some of them also send their footage to other editors to have their vision recreated in the way that they want. If you’re the type of artist that wants to edit your own video I would recommend google to search for free programs to learn editing.
After you take these proper steps then you’ll have all the essentials you need to make a proper independent music video. If you have any other questions or thoughts on this guide feel free to send us a tweet or let us know if you think we should expand on this topic a bit more.
