On Heartstopmiami’s upcoming album MiSS SWAMP- set for a release date of September 25th, Miami stays lyrically vulnerable as ever throughout her most versatile, and carefully crafted project yet.

The world building around Swamp City is on par with what Underscores created with Wallsocket, Michigan.
The 13 tracks on MiSS SWAMP are actually side B of a 26 track full length project, and like a good movie the songs fill the runtime effectively making this album feel shorter than it really is. For transitions, the use of nature audio sourced from a humid swamp- and other instrumental transitions such as on “1B. SWAMP-MADE JiT – prequel”, each gave a pleasant, and immersive break in the flow of the passing songs. Last month I wrote about “4B. GEORGiA HEAT”, and found it to be a great song with a familiar melodic flow from Miami, but the very next track titled “5B MiSS U” actually pushes the envelope with her singing the song's incredibly catchy hook. There’s a short recurring sample that says “gettin’ to the money” that repeats itself and appears several times that gets stuck in my head after hearing it. Heartstopmiami has been one of my favorite producers for a few years now. Some small aspects that define her style, like the spray paint audios, and her unique use of both Milwaukee and Atlanta scene influences, are what make this album sound original. So many incredible one-liner’s dot the tracklist here, my favorite being when she says “I’m like Alice with the Gas through the looking glass”, on “12B. ii MiSS DA SWAMP”, an obvious name drop of the legendary Alice Gas- also a double-entendre that I just love.
A major theme on “MiSS SWAMP” that connected with me is the act of coping with daily stress and having to just accept life as it hits you sometimes. This album is ambitious and really plays best when you put disc A and B on chronologically. It is one of my favorite projects released this year and played a huge role in getting me through a hectic week at work, you can catch it next week on September 25th.
