Sometimes artists have an “it” factor that is completely undeniable. In this exclusive Music Mondays Interview we sat down with mostdopekemon and discussed this hard working artist's journey from the start.
5/11/25
Zomb: First things first, where are you from and how old are you?
mostdopekemon: I was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia, born in January 25 years old
Zomb: Love that, what was it like growing up in Georgia? Tell us a little bit about your experience early on in your younger days.
mostdopekemon: Growing up in ga was a cool experience it’s a lot different cultures I got to see growing up which allowed me to be opening minded with different music in my younger days I rap when I was elementary and stop after second grade and decided to play basketball through out my youth days all the way up to my jr year in high school I ran into a old friend of minds and he had a microphone and a program call mixcraft and we just started recording music and I never could stop after that
Zomb: Woah that’s actually such an interesting start, Georgia has such a good diversity. So growing up in GA was solid, what were some of your first experiences with music? Who were some of the artists that you listened to early on growing up?
mostdopekemon: my 1st experience with music was the songs I heard on mtv count day in the morning and local songs in atl. I was fans of artists like Mac miller Coldplay, rich kids, young thug future and more.
Zomb: Such a solid lineup, that era was so golden. So you had mentioned you started rapping when you were younger but took some time off for basketball. Following that you ran into an old friend that had recording equipment, what was that experience like for you? Did you know that you wanted to continue to make music instantly or was it more of a hobby at first?
mostdopekemon: It was a hobby but I knew I wanted to make music i always been a music head and was always tap in to the underground of music so I knew I wanted to make music just had to get comfortable
Zomb: Totally makes sense. So at what point did you initially start releasing music? Were you always going by mostdopekemon or did you have other artists' names before your current?
mostdopekemon: I started dropping as soon as I started recording music lol I always liked seeing my music actually out and ya I always went by mostdopekemon
Zomb: That’s so sick, so you hit the ground running for sure. Your work ethic is actually unreal and it shows in your music definitely. What year was this and at what point did you decide to take it more seriously?
mostdopekemon: After high school I got more serious with it but i still didn’t like my music 100% I want to say during the pandemic I got my own equipment and got my sound how I wanted it and that’s when I really got serious about music
Zomb: Excellent so you took advantage of the pandemic era which was smart. On average how long does it usually take you to write, record and release a song? Explain your process a bit.
mostdopekemon: ya I definitely did and I got a fast recording process I got my presets already save in so I’ll already have my song together sound wise and I just go off the top my head and punch in mostly but I do write lines down when I’m not able to record and I might have some ideas in my head that I like
Zomb: Totally feel you, everyone has their specific process. So you initially came on to our radar from your music videos and visuals, tell us about your process behind your video library
mostdopekemon: it took me a minute to get videos done in the start of my music career and I always liked the visual part of music the most so I told myself in 2025 I’m going to go on a video run to bring out the music more the process behind my videos is to be real raw and authentic not to polish I want them them to feel how I feel in the moment so that’s how I’m shoot
Zomb: I like that process a lot, it really gives an authentic feel like you mentioned. Who are some artists you’d like to collaborate with in the future? Can be independent or mainstream.
mostdopekemon: I haven’t really thought about that but I would like to see how I would sound on a song with a couple like sahbabii and sofaygo I know it’s more I just can’t think of them
Zomb: Definitely, especially those 2 you could go hard with either of them. Currently it’s May 8th 2025, what are your plans for the summer and the rest of the year?
mostdopekemon: Definitely and my plans is to be consistent as I can put out as much content as a can and build a team and fan base along the way
Zomb: Right on the money my friend, definitely on a great path. One of my last questions for you is outside of music, what are you doing to yourself sane? What do you enjoy doing to decompress if you aren’t creating?
mostdopekemon: spend time with family and friends and watch a lot Apple TV at the moment and Zaza lol keep me grounded
Zomb: It really is the simple things in life that are most enjoyable, completely agree. My last question is, who are your top 5 favorite artists? In no particular order.
mostdopekemon: my top five all time or at the moment
